summer 2011, In collaboration with artist Tom Swift all musicians, performers, vocalists, extroverts and rogues were invited to audition for ‘The Batons’. A band created for a single performance at the ‘Ashford is?’ music festival, an opportunity to bring talent to a unique contemporary music project. From audition to stage in one week: take a diverse mix of performers, add original lyrics and music to create ‘The Batons’- a sound inspired by the town.
