IF THE WALLS COULD TELL THEIR STORIES
A commissioned project for Margate Festival 2016 September 2017. The project focuses on a mini writing residency in Margate Old Town area, concentrating on the fringe spaces, alleyways and cut throughs that form unofficial paths, meeting places and story dens. The poetic outcomes are being shared through accidental interactions, found along a trail back through the old town’s streets, shops and meeting points.
The #MargateStories envelopes contain a cut up sheet of words from a poem written for the residency. The sheet is perforated for audiences to tear and share their own poem, line or statement via Twitter or Instagram via #MargateStories
DID YOU FIND EVERYTHING YOU WERE LOOKING FOR?
A Reflective question for day trippers, weekenders, holiday makers, the newly moved and the born and bred. Screenprinted posters on to found poster material (appropriated from the HOME residency), these posters open dialogue with oneself and the town; Did Margate give you the answers, it of course depends what you were expecting to find. The posters themselves are open to being found and kept by the audience for future reflection.
FINDERS KEEPERS
Keep you eyes peeled for more street installations during the Duration of the festival
